Making the Most of Every Measure
Our label was founded by Julien Monette and Ryan Bonnano as a means to simultaneously facilitate personal musical growth and increase the exposure of underground musicians local to the DMV area, but more importantly, as a way to inspire and lead the next generation of young musicians of all styles and genres. We at Cookie Cutter Record Company are fully committed to ensuring that everyone from our youngest students to our most prodigious professionals continually demonstrates and inspires in others a love of music and its many facets.
Our Story
On September 13th, 2019, at the insistence of one Molly Rumberger, fledgeling composer-pianist Julien Monette asked local rock band lead-singer and guitarist Ryan Bonanno if he would be willing to work on a new score for their high school's fall play. The score, which is the first registered original work in both Monette and Bonanno's catalogue, marks the beginning of Diversiform Records as a concept.

After Monette's acceptance to Christopher Newport University as a Bachelor of Music with concentrations in Piano Performance and Composition, he and Bonanno, now beginning to seriously grow as a composer-performer in his own right, spearheaded an effort to consolidate musical talent in their hometown of Lorton, Virginia. These efforts yielded a uniquely gifted artist: Ryan "Chalbert" Hicks is a good friend of both Bonanno and Monette, and has contributed greatly to the technological knowledge of both. Hicks's utilization of of quirky and creative sound design and rhythms has influenced the work of every Diversiform artist, to say nothing of the EDM community at large. He bridged the gap between the electro-acoustically inclined Bonanno school and the more traditionally classical Monette school, combining the natural and graceful lyricism of contemporary hip-hop and trap with the stylistic and philosophical harmony of the classical music literature.
